WATCH: Highlights of an epic clash between Alabama and Texas

The Texas Longhorns and Alabama Crimson Tide meet again this season after an instant classic in 2022. The two teams swapped punches for four quarters until No. 1 NFL draft pick Bryce Young ripped victory from the jaws of defeat. Though the Tide came away with the victory, the Longhorns showed they are capable of matching Alabama on the football field. Texas took a 19-17 lead in the fourth quarter before giving the football back to the Alabama offense. Dynamic quarterback Bryce Young made Texas pay leading the eventual game winning drive. Texas was close last season, but close will no longer cut it. Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian and his team know it. After proving capable of competing with a team of Alabama’s caliber, Sarkisian and company need to win this season’s matchup. The Longhorns certainly have the quarterback to make it happen. In his two drives before injury, Quinn Ewers amassed 134 yards on nine completions and 12 passing attempts. On the other side, Texas returns defense that could be among the most improved in the country. All-American linebacker Jaylan Ford, team sack-leader Barryn Sorrell, dominant interior defensive linemen and an experienced and loaded secondary return for the team. The Longhorns will look to capitalize on what they return in this year’s matchup. #1 Alabama 🐘 @ Texas 🤘 pic.twitter.com/drd7lekebu — College Football Report (@CFBRep) July 14, 2023 Follow all of your favorite Texas teams at Longhorns Wire, Cowboys Wire, Texans Wire, Rockets Wire, Aggies Wire and the Austin American-Statesman!
